| Well, it has finally happened. We haven't gotten everything moved
into the new apartment, but it's becoming home... messy kitchens, dirty
clothes on the floor, running out of groceries... home.
I'm taking ballet at Jefferson Ballet Theater... Myra Mier's school of dance here in New Orleans.
Wow. Vaganova method is very different from Checcetti.
Jim just got a vehicle, but to register it we'll have to stand at the
DMV for 7 hours (really), because they only have one open on Airline
Hwy... the rest are closed because of the storm. So, although we
are still a one vehicle family practically, there is hope in
sight.
Somehow, it still doesn't quite feel like home.
I miss you.
Oh look.... rain!

| i'm having trouble "being the rain." it's a lot tougher than it sounds apparently. hmmm.
in the "waiting" i'm spiritually doing over here, i've found a few
survival tips that i thought i might pass on to encourage all you other
guys who are having to wait as well.
1. jazzercise helps when you're being misunderstood or forgotten. endorphens stop depression.
2. filling your day with busyness only makes you more exhausted, it doesn't distract you from the waiting.
3. hot baths de-stress your body when you don't even realize that you're stressing.
4. worship, real worship, is the only thing i've found to bring
any kind of release, without it, you're faced with a lot of
numbness.
5. serving and being nice to strangers makes the time go by
faster... kind of like the day goes by faster at work when you're
really really busy.
6. God loves to meet with you in nature (you can see Him busy
there, and it reminds you physically that He's actually doing stuff
while you wait... bringing you hope... light at the end of the tunnel)
7. Check out the new song "Ain't no other man" ... not sure who
it's by, but you could probably find it on itunes if you really wanted
to... it's old school Diva music with a techno dance beat... but you
can sing it directly to Jesus. It really helps launch into the
"real worship" thing in # 4.
Anybody else waiting???
Stress with me here, people.

| so, sickness makes you be still. while still, i asked God...
"what do you want me to do here?" no reply. finally, while
laying in a bathtub, He spoke to me. "it isn't what I want you to
do, but instead, what i want you to be." I was shaken.
realization does that to you, ya know? so, i dared ask... "what
do you want me to be, then?"
"i want you to be someone who loves the rain.
someone who sees something special in everything, even the mundain.
someone who calls out the purposes that i have created in people
so they can know me and be strong, even when they're wrong.
someone who so dances with time that a moment stands completely still...stalled in the realization of who i am.
you are simplicity, truth, joy, and nourishment to others.
there is no fear in you, no shame. someone who is energized to try anything.
one who will weep with others without trying to control their situation, or the outcome... you don't need control.
warfare is easy because you accept what i give you in thankfulness...because you trust me.
completely.
and that trust brings life to your innermost being... to others... in a dreary land,
you are the rain. be the rain.
wow.
processing....
can i actually become this????
maybe it'll take as long as i feel this stupid sickness is lasting...
which i must say, feels like a very very very very very very very very
very very very very very very long time.

| okay...here's the poem for the day...
sinus infections are what i hate
coughing and snorting keeps you up real late
if you lay on your back then you just might drown
nyquil and menthol make my praise resound
to breathe, o the joy of that oxygen gift
but for now all i do is sneeze and....
- "sniff".
no home yet.
keep praying, we really really need it!!!
maybe next time i'll add music to my little diddy.
hmm.
